About this collection

In 2000, Mr. George Crout, an educator and local historian, became the catalyst to the Library Lens project when he donated 70 years worth of collections to the Middletown Public Library. During his lifetime, Mr. Crout collected historical documents pertaining to this area, particularly Middletown, and also authored weekly articles and several books on local history. The Crout Collection, largest of the Library's collections, includes photographs, negatives and slides that are readily available on this site to view and enjoy. To view the original written materials, please contact the Library.
